WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Should Be Reading. To participate, simply answer these questions three:
1. What are you currently reading?
2. What did you recently finish reading?
3. What do you think you'll read next?
1. I am currently reading Quarantine by John Smolens, The Complete Works of Lewis Carroll, and the audiobook of Memnoch the Devil by Anne Rice. That's more than I usually read at once, but the audiobook is for my walks to and from work, and I started Lewis Carroll because I needed a paperback for the beach.
2. I recently read Lucretia and the Kroons by Victor LaValle and Talisman of El by Alecia Stone (DNF), as well as finishing the audiobook of The Tale of the Body Thief by Anne Rice.
3. Books I'm planning to read soon include
the rest of my NetGalleys: The Devil in Silver by Victor LaValle, The Enchanted Truth by Kym Petrie, The Infects by Sean Beaudoin, and The Blueprint: Averting Global Collapse by Daniel Rirdan.
I'm only familiar with the Anne Rice books. And I haven't ever read the complete works of Lewis Carroll, I just know Alice. It might be fun to pick up his other works. Enjoy reading at the beach.
ReplyDeleteThe only Lewis Carroll I've read so far is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. He has a couple other stories, but a lot of the book is a collection of poems, riddles, etc.
DeleteLewis Carroll is a lot of fun. I prefer Alice in Wonderland to Through the Looking Glass, but the latter has its moments of amusement.
ReplyDeleteWWW Wednesday and Giveaway.
I seem to recall I didn't like Through the Looking Glass quite as much as Wonderland, either. I'm looking forward to reading his other stories I'd never heard of before, like Sylvie and Bruno.
DeleteMemnoch the Devil is lots of fun. Gotta love Lestat :)

I definitely do love Lestat. :) I think when I read the Vampire Chronicles before I didn't like this one as much. We'll see how I like it this time. The reader definitely isn't as good as the previous books (it's the first one not read by Frank Muller).
DeleteI haven't read Anne Rice in forever but I used to love her Vampire books.
ReplyDeleteMy WWW Wednesday is here.
My problem is that I always start over, because I forget details, so I just read her early books over and over again. :) That's why this year I'm doing the Anne Rice Challenge, to try to get through them all once and for all! (Though I'm definitely not going to finish them all this year; I'll just have to do the challenge again next year.) You can still sign up if you want! http://thetoweringpile.blogspot.ca/2011/11/sign-up-2012-anne-rice-challenge.html
