March 2013 Wrap-Up

Here's a summary of my book-related activity for March. It's basically nothing. For whatever reason, it's like my bookish life stood still this month. I read each day, but slowly. I've been reading the same book all month, which is ridiculous for me. I haven't touched my blog, and I haven't acquired a single new book! Crazy. I'm just finishing up the book I've been reading since late February, so I'm hoping that with a new book will come a new start and a return to my usual frenzied pace. :)

Books I read (linked to the reviews)

Water Harvest by Eric Diehl (continued from last month, and still in progress, though almost done)
Evidence Explained by Elizabeth Shown Mills (library book) (in progress)

Progress on challenges

The Dark Victorian: Bones was my March Random Read, but I didn't have time to read it. I'll read it soon, though!

I didn't go out of my comfort zone this month, but I'll make up for it later so I still try them all!

I completed the following letters for the A-Z Book Challenge: none

I read 0 books for the Mount TBR Reading Challenge.

I read 0 books for the Anne Rice Challenge. You can still sign up!

I read 0 books for the Debut Author Challenge.

I completed the following squares for the Book Bingo Challenge: none

I read 1 books for the Nerdy Non-Fiction Challenge.

I read 0 books for the Dystopia Challenge.

I read 1 book written by a woman.

I read 0 books for the Seriously Series Challenge.

Progress on my TBR pile: I added 0 books to my to read list and removed 0, so my pile stayed the same this month.

March Random Reads selection

It's time to select my Random Read for March! Last month, my Random Read was Daughters of the Moon, Sisters of the Sun. I ended up flipping through it and losing interest. At least it's off my TBR pile!

So it's off to the random number generator. I have 765 books on my TBR shelf at the moment, so I enter 1 as the min and 765 as the max, and hit Generate.

Drum roll, please!

That's new! This is the first time my random number has been so low that it's in the part of my list reserved for review copies and other books I need to read soon-ish. So this month, instead of reading a random old book, I'll be bumping up a review copy to the head of the queue.

For March’s Random Read I'll be reading The Dark Victorian: Bones by Elizabeth Watasin. It's been on my TBR shelf since January 31, 2013.You may recall that I reviewed the first book in this series, The Dark Victorian: Risen, last year.
