No time for sleeping! It's the read-a-thon!

It's time for my 22nd Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon!

I had trouble deciding on books for my read-a-thon stack, maybe because a lot of the stuff on my book cart has been sitting there for a while and just didn't feel fresh and exciting. So I went to my bookshelves and have hopefully made a pile that will keep me focused.

  • Paper Girls, Vol. 3 by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang (128 pages)
  • Zeus: King of the Gods (Olympians #1) by George O'Connor (66 pages)
  • Athena: Grey-Eyed Goddess (Olympians #2) by George O'Connor (66 pages)
  • Aster and the Accidental Magic by Thom Pico and Karensac (210 pages)
  • The Accidental After Life of Thomas Marsden by Emma Trevayne (247 pages)
  • The Test (Animorphs #43) by K.A. Applegate (135 pages)
  • Help! I'm Trapped in the First Day of Summer Camp by Todd Strasser (148 pages)
  • Leprechauns Don't Play Basketball (The Bailey School Kids #4) by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones (71 pages)
  • The Second Evil (Fear Street Cheerleaders #2) by R.L. Stine (167 pages)
That's a total of 1238 pages, consisting of 470 pages of graphic novels, and 768 pages of standard text, which is a little less than I read last time, though it's one more book. We shall see! I'm really tired lately so I'm not expecting a record-breaking performance today. But if I do manage to finish my whole pile (that's actually never happened!) I do have plenty of other reading material at the ready, including a few books I've already started and a French book I'm planning to start on Sunday anyway.

Finally, here's my opening survey (prepped in advance as usual, because I can't accomplish things at 7:00!):

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Winnipeg, Manitoba
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? The Accidental After Life of Thomas Marsden
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? My coworker gave me some of her delicious banana bread, so probably that!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! Umm my pronouns are they/them. That's new since last read-a-thon!
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? Same as usual.
