High Summer Read-a-Thon Wrap-Up

The read-a-thon is over! I had an awesome weekend of reading, and so ended up actually exceeding my read-a-thon goals! :) I not only finished The Mists of Avalon and read The Wish List, but I also read a little graphic novel called Xoc, and read the first 27 pages of Auraria.

Here are my totals for the week:
Pages read: 757
Books finished: 3

I call that a successful read-a-thon! And I don't have to wait long for another reading challenge to keep me on my toes, because the August 2012 Review Copy Cleanup starts in just over a week, on August 1.

  1. Finishing a big book like Bradley's is definitely an achievement: I'm impressed. Congrats on reading your goal, and good luck with your review copy cleanup!

    1. Well, I'd already started that one before the read-a-thon started. :P I'd never have been able to finish it during the read-a-thon! It actually took me 3 weeks of pretty intensive reading. So worth it, though!

      And thanks! :)

  2. Nice going - I fancy trying THE MISTS OF AVALON at some point, but I'm a bit intimidated by the sheer size of it! I was looking at your About page and oh, goodness me, I completely agree with you about Mount TBR. Mine's sitting in the multiple-hundreds too, so I've been joining challenges and read-a-thons to give me a little extra fun motivation along the way. Nice to know it's not just me! ;)

    1. It's big, but it's worth it! I thoroughly enjoyed it. One thing I'll warn you of, though: it has about as many endings as The Return of the King. :P

Read-a-thons really are great for making you feel better about your TBR pile! Challenges are fun, but mostly just make me more aware of the problem, lol.

You are not alone! Maybe we should start a support group! Haha.

  3. Great progress!! I'm hoping to participate in some more read-a-thons soon as well :). Happy reading!

    1. These Seasons of Reading ones happen 4 times a year, and of course there's Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon (my first read-a-thon, and favourite!) twice a year. We can cheer each other on! :)

  4. Great job! And you finished The Mists of Avalon...one of my top 10 faves! It's a LONG book. I'm glad you enjoyed the week. I too can't wait for the Review Copy Clean-Up.

Thank you for joining me and I hope you will be with us for FrightFall in October.

  5. Congrats on the successful read-a-thon. I'm trying 100 pages/day until the end of July, but we'll see how it goes. I'm already behind!

    1. That's a really good goal! I think I average about that much when I'm reading easy things, but I'm not really a very fast reader, so I get through a lot less when I'm reading something heavier.
